A WORLD WITHINI remember a time when a world lived beneath
my skin, creating an ocean in my veins from
the song that absolved my melancholy into melody,
I was searching for a catharsis to make sugar
from my scars, dissolving the Starshine into
an amaranthine, I would drink the purifying
recall from its pretty petals and let its
familiar timbre liquefy my hurt into healing,
I would drink deeply until my form quivered
to be fluid and my soul bloomed amaranthine
divine, and I became a current of palpable feeling
ever lost, ever dreaming of my waters cascading
onto a sandy white shore I had yet to reach.
